Barrichello now ‘Mr. Happy’ after Nurburgring outburst

(GMM) After slamming his Brawn colleagues in the wake of the recent German grand prix, Rubens Barrichello wore a 'Mr. Happy' t-shirt to Thursday's team briefing at the Hungaroring.

The veteran Brazilian hit reverse gear in the hours after his Nurburgring outburst, having despaired at how he could finish just sixth having led for the first stint of the race.

On the following Tuesday, he took a call from team boss Ross Brawn, and wrote on his Twitter page that he is now "over it".

"It was a nice conversation," Barrichello recalled. "He (Brawn) said he had heard things he didn't like, and that he had said things he shouldn't have as well.

"He told me we had a new update coming to this race and he wanted me to be perfectly straight to deliver my very best for this race," he added.

Barrichello also told reporters in Hungary that he emailed the entire Brackley based team to clear the air and that the staff had "accepted it well".

"They know me. It was purely the frustration of getting out of the car and not finishing where I could have," he said.
