Champ Cars much faster than Superleague cars
A lap time comparison of the 2007 pole winning time of Sebastien Bourdais in the Newman/Haas Panoz DP01 Cosworth to be 1:12.821 vs. this year's Superleague pole winning time by K. Andersen to be 1:19.254, or 6.4 seconds per lap slower. Too bad IndyCar didn't adopt the Panoz Cosworth when they bought out Champ Car. It was faster than today's IndyCars, cost much less to own and operate, was already turbocharged, and already had Push-To-Pass built in.
