De Ferran tops first practice

Eager to add another of North America’s classic circuits to his victory list this season, Gil de Ferran set the fastest lap in Saturday morning’s practice session for the Time Warner Cable Road Race Showcase at Road America. The Brazilian team owner and driver set a lap of 1:49.874 (132.632 mph) in the XM Acura ARX-02a that he will drive with Frenchman Simon Pagenaud.
