NASCAR rep for Sprint killed in accident
Sprint VP/Corporate Brand Marketing Tom Murphy, who was the key man behind the Sprint sponsorship of NASCAR, was killed Friday when a boulder crashed through the windshield of his vehicle while he and his family were driving in Colorado.
Sprint released a company statement saying, “Cheerful and enthusiastic, he was a highly effective marketing advocate for Sprint and a beloved member of Sprint’s NASCAR team."
NASCAR stated, “Tom will be missed first and foremost as a husband and a father. He will also be missed as a leader and an advocate for the Sprint and NASCAR partnership."
