Alonso makes second visit to stewards
(GMM) Local hero Fernando Alonso made a second visit to the stewards' room at the Valencia circuit on Friday.
The Spaniard's first summons was in the morning, when he and new Renault teammate Romain Grosjean missed a mandatory autograph session due to a clashing sponsor commitment.
Following the afternoon practice session, he was then back in the company of FIA officials Lars Osterlind, Antonio Vasconcelos and Manuel Vidal, to explain his role in the collision with BMW's Nick Heidfeld.
"It was a normal incident that can happen during racing or free practice," said the double world champion, who shook hands with Heidfeld during the briefing despite the German driver initially expressing anger about the clash.
The stewards agreed, ruling that "the incident requires no further action".
