Badoer said comparison with F1 newcomers unfair

(GMM) Luca Badoer on Saturday said it is not fair to compare his poor performance at Valencia with those of F1's other newcomers.

Although the 38-year-old Italian has 56 grand prix weekends of experience and has served as Ferrari's test driver for more than a decade, he has not faced any competitive F1 action since 1999.

But it is true that while Badoer might have been expected to struggle on his return to the sport at the wheel of injured Felipe Massa's car, he was also a long way from the qualifying pace of Romain Grosjean and Jaime Alguersuari, who between them have contested only a single formula one race.

Badoer said that comparison is not fair.

"One (Alguersuari) was already racing one time and the other one (Grosjean) was racing GP2 and knows this track," he said at Valencia.

"It's completely different situation, you cannot compare this situation," said Badoer.
