Vatanen again says Mosley should not be backing Todt
(GMM) Ari Vatanen has revealed that he asked Max Mosley to his face why he risked neutrality by backing the FIA presidential campaign of Jean Todt.
Finn Vatanen will take on former Ferrari boss Todt in October's elections, but the incumbent Mosley revealed recently that he thinks the French candidate is the best man for the job.
"I have asked him why he is not behaving neutrally," Vatanen said in an interview with the German newspaper Die Welt.
He said that Mosley answered that "in principle he would be completely neutral but on the other hand he promised to help Jean. I would have wished that Max behaves more correctly," Vatanen said.
The feeling in the F1 paddock is while there is a great deal of good will for Vatanen, he is being out-maneuvered politically by the wily Todt.
