Schu ‘comeback’ caps on sale at Spa
For 25 euros, punters can celebrate the seven time world champion's sensational return to F1 with the familiar red cap featuring the insignia 'Schumi', 'comeback' and '09' — even though Schumacher, 40, called off the comeback due to injury.
"I know nothing about it," manager Willi Weber told Germany's Bild newspaper.
08/28/09 (GMM) From the merchandising stands at Spa-Francorchamps on Friday, 25 euros could buy you an official cap to celebrate the "comeback" of F1's most successful driver Michael Schumacher.
The only glitch is that the former seven time world champion called off his return to replace the injured Felipe Massa.
The official caps, however, were when he made the decision seemingly already en route to his favorite circuit in Belgium; scene of his formula one debut in 1991, his first win a year later, and five other victories on the awesome layout amidst the Ardennes forest.
The merchandise features the words 'Schumi' and 'comeback' on the brim, and his personal logo alongside '09', to celebrate the sensational return that was not to be due to injury.
