Fisi not auditioning for Massa’s race seat

(GMM) Giancarlo Fisichella on Monday insisted he is not using the opportunity of a five-race stint in Felipe Massa's Ferrari as an audition to take over the injured Brazilian's seat permanently.

During a news conference at the team's Maranello base, the 36-year-old Roman – who has already been signed as Ferrari's 2010 reserve driver – said he had spoken about his appointment over the phone with 28-year-old Massa, who will return to the cockpit no earlier than 2010.

"He said he was happy for me and that it had been the right decision to choose me," the Roman told reporters.

"I said I was really sorry for what happened to him and to recover quickly. (I said) when you want the car back, come and take it because it is yours. I hope to achieve what you would have," Fisichella, 36, recalled of the conversation.
