Williams, Force India re-join FOTA

(GMM) During a meeting on Wednesday at Monza, Williams and Force India were re-admitted to the formula one teams association FOTA.

The two outfits were suspended by the Geneva-based body earlier this year for breaking ranks amid the breakaway row and signing up for the 2010 world championship.

"FOTA … welcomes back into full membership both Williams and Force India," the organization, chaired by Ferrari's Luca di Montezemolo, confirmed in a media statement.

It was also indicated that F1's new teams Campos, USF1 and Manor will be invited to join FOTA in due course, as "all teams competing in formula one" are eligible.

Meanwhile, with the breakaway threats now at an end and a new Concorde Agreement signed, FOTA said it intends to commence talks with Bernie Ecclestone "with the wish to confirm arrangements beyond 2012".
