Barrichello scolds Briatore for personal Piquet remarks

(GMM) Rubens Barrichello has scolded Flavio Briatore for dragging down even further the tone of the 'crash-gate' scandal.

The Renault team boss is accused of ordering his sacked driver Nelson Piquet to crash during last year's Singapore grand prix, and he came out fighting when he gave interviews in multiple languages in the Monza paddock.

At one point, the Italian revealed that Piquet had had a relationship with a 50-year-old man.

"I do not have anything against anyone and so I am just waiting to see what the FIA says (at the 21 September hearing)," Barrichello, who wore an orange top on his helmet at Monza in partial tribute to Piquet Jr, said.

"For formula one it is a dishonor, about what happened (at Singapore) and of what Briatore said yesterday," the Brazilian veteran, who admitted he does not have a good relationship with Piquet's famous father, explained.

"In my view that (Briatore's comments) was simply too much, going down too low a level," he added.
