Copart to sponsor Edwards in Nationwide Series
“I’m very excited about the Copart relationship," stated Edwards.
"It will be fun to help them grow their business and make people aware of how many cars they sell through their online auctions. Speaking with the folks at Copart I realized that my father and I used to buy cars from an auction in Columbia, Missouri that is now owned by Copart. We used to fix the cars up and get them re-inspected and sold. We bought 10 to 15 cars from those folks and I didn’t realize at the time I was learning Copart’s business and I can say that it was really great for us. It will be fun to get the word out on what they do and how many vehicles are out there and available at really great prices."
Copart will first appear as a primary sponsor on the No. 60 Ford at Auto Club Speedway in February of next year. Edwards, the 2007 Nationwide Series champion, has one win, two poles, six top-five and seven top-10’s in just nine starts at the 2-mile oval. To date, Edwards has 24 career Nationwide wins – a number that he looks to add to in 2010 with Copart on his team.
"Copart is proud to be a part of Roush Fenway Racing and we look forward to a winning season with Carl Edwards and the No. 60 Copart Nationwide car," said Jay Adair, president of Copart. “Winning is a theme at Copart, as members of Copart.com can set their price for the vehicle of their choice and bid against others to win the online auction. The highest bidder wins … and winning is awesome!
“With more than 50,000 vehicles to search through each day located in more than 130 locations in the United States, Copart.com makes it easy to find a good deal on a vehicle close to home.
