Castroneves wrecks

Helio Castroneves wrecked his primary car near the end of the second IndyCar practice session.

Sparks flew from the rear of Team Penske's No. 3 as Castroneves exited turn 2, sending him sideways down the back straightaway before the car's left rear hit the SAFER barrier at turn 3 and sustained heavy damage. He climbed from the car without assistance and was cleared to return, eventually qualifying 11th.

"The left rear suspension collapsed, and we ended up hitting the wall," Castroneves said. "When you have three wheels, normally it doesn't go well."
