Another wet Brazilian GP in store

UPDATE (GMM) It is a warm but wet day at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, in sprawling metropolis Sao Paulo, as the F1 circus gathers ahead of the Brazilian grand prix weekend.

Thursday's weather feels warm and in the mid twenties, and amid the humidity is the occasional shower of rain.

The weather is forecast to remain changeable throughout the penultimate event on the 2009 calendar, with temperatures tipped to drop beginning on Friday.

10/15/09 Wet conditions are expected during the Brazilian Grand Prix. Showers and temperatures below 20 degrees Celsius are expected for practice on Friday. It will be slightly warmer for qualifying on Saturday, but the rain won't stay away. Things are also not looking good for Sunday's race as scattered thunder storms are predicted.

BMW technical director Willi Rampf admits it is always difficult to drive in wet conditions at Interlagos.

"The weather can play a decisive role in Interlagos with the likelihood of rain at this time of year being pretty high," he said. "Heavy rainfall causes rivulets of water on the track, which leads to aquaplaning."
