IndyCar attendance to plummet in 2010

UPDATE The Indy Star newspaper reports that Roger Penske said this week that Philip Morris USA will again sponsor the IndyCar team through its Marlboro brand even though the company eliminated its ticket-purchasing program at tracks. It cannot have it's name on the Penske cars and it cannot advertise at the race track, so why would Marlboro give Penske money for nothing in return? There must be some backdoor deal involved that we don't know about.

10/25/09 Philip Morris USA, which backs Team Penske, will not continue its Marlboro ticket-buying program at IndyCar races in 2010, a blow to tracks that host events. [One could not miss the thousands free Marlboro hats that went with free grandstand tickets at every IndyCar race.] Indy Star
