Toyota’s exit proves once again Mosley was right

Toyota's exit from F1, following Honda, Ford and BMW (with Renault thinking hard about leaving as well) underscores just how forward thinking departing FIA president Max Mosley was to force the F1 teams to reduce costs in the sport so it could survive the mass exodus we are seeing. He brought in Cosworth to fill the engine supply gap left as these manufacturers have dropped F1 like a hot potato and made it possible for independent teams to once again compete in F1.

Sex scandal or not, controversial or not, hate him or love him, he was the greatest President the FIA ever had. And to think it was these very manufacturers that have left the sport who were instrumental in forcing Mosley to quit.
