Canadian Tire series to share date with Honda Indy
After dismal attendance in 2009 due to lack of promotion, IndyCar will have some company for next year's race in Toronto. NASCAR has announced that the Canadian Tire development series will share a weekend with the Honda Indy Toronto. The circuit, which revealed its 2010 schedule Saturday, will run 13 races at 13 different tracks spanning six provinces.
"All of the facilities we visit are top notch which certainly enhances our product," George Silbermann, NASCAR's managing director of racing operations, said in a statement. "I think the great race fans of Canada will enjoy another exciting season in 2010."
The Canadian Tire race will be held July 17, the day before the IndyCar race on the 1.721-mile temporary street course at Exhibition Place.
