Joel Miller Shows Well in Indy Lights Test

Joel Miller received the opportunity to test one of Andersen Racing's Indy Lights cars on Tuesday of this week at Palm Beach International Raceway. It has been well over a year since Miller was in the car since the test at Sebring last October.

The test only consisted of two 45 minute sessions so Miller had to relearn the car quickly in order to maximize his time. Others testing were Gustavo Yacaman and Richard Kent.

Millers first session was cut short, due to mechanical issue's, but that did not stop Joel from being right on pace by lap 8. Working with current Andersen Racing engineer Walt Preston, Joel continued learning the car.

Towards the end of the second run it was time for new tires. Miller had to gather what he learned in the short time and maximize that for the new tire run. He did just that by posting a fast time that actually stood as the quick time for the remainder of the day.

Miller comments, “Getting more seat time in the Indy Lights car and continue learning its characteristics was huge, I have to thank Dan Andersen and everybody at the program for this opportunity first off. The advice and data from the engineers helped me adapt to the car quickly. It was nice to see that I could be right on pace straight away. There is definitely more that I can learn about the car but am quite happy that my time was as competitive as it was. There is more to come for sure."

Miller is currently evaluating all options for next season, but the focus is on securing an Indy Lights program for 2010.

Joel would like to thank all of his supporters from the past season such as Doug Mockett & Co., Sparco, Dream Cars Auto, Classic Stone Distributors and all the individual supporters that were a part of his program.
