6 karting drivers awarded Skip Barber entries

The Championship Karting International (CKI) and WSK North American Series would like to congratulate their six deserving drivers for being awarded entries to the annual Skip Barber Scholarship Shootout. Drivers will be competing for over $255,000.00 worth of seat time in various Skip Barber programs throughout the United States with the top prize of two fully funded rides in the Skip Barber National Championship.

With the list of forty drivers being presented at the annual Performance Racing Industry trade show this past weekend, CKI names like Neil Alberico, Remo Ruscitti, Spencer Pigot, Tristan DeGrand, RC Enerson and Trent Hindman could be seen scattered throughout. All six of these drivers competed in CKI action in the 2009 season showing strong results.

Alberico and Ruscitti have been constant front runners throughout the past season. The two IAME Senior pilots challenged for multiple race wins and were classified in the top five in the overall championship. KF3 National Champion Tristan DeGrand will also do battle for the scholarship awards as well as Floridians RC Enerson and All-Star Classic competitor Spencer Pigot will be in attendance. Joining these five drivers will be IAME Junior competitor Trent Hindman as he looks to make the move from karting to cars.

“The Skip Barber Scholarship is a very prestigious award that looks to financially help up and coming race car drivers," stated CKI Director of Operations Kevin Williams. “The field of forty drivers is very qualified. On behalf of myself, CKI and the WSK North American Series, we would like to congratulate and wish luck to all of our competitors."

The Skip Barber Scholarship Shootout will take place at Sebring International Raceway from December 27th – 30th, 2009.
