Endurance of another kind
American Le Mans Series stars Oliver Gavin, Johnny Mowlem and Guy Smith are among the membership of the British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) that will contest this year's London Marathon on April 25 in support of the children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent in the UK. All three are avid runners, and not surprisingly long-distance running is part of their training program for endurance racing.
Corvette Racing’s Gavin, in particular, is a marathon man having raced in both the Paris and London marathons since his first race in 2002.
A number of fellow BRDC participants are familiar names to American Le Mans Series fans – Andy Priaulx, Darren Turner, Peter Dumbreck and Richard Westbrook among them.
