Yas Marina Circuit now operating year round

Yas Marina Circuit will host five major motorsport events in 2010 as part of a year round calendar of world-class entertainment. GP2 Asia, V8 Supercars Australia and the new FIA GT1 international series will all take place in the first half of 2010.
The circuit will again host the final race of the Formula 1 FIA World Championship, with the Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix taking place from November 12-14.
In March a major international Drag Racing Festival will launch Yas Marina Circuit’s Drag Racing Centre. The Drag Racing Festival will feature the best of drag racing from the United States of America. After the festival, the Drag Racing Centre will host regular events where the public can race their own vehicles.
“Yas Marina Circuit has been created to provide world-class entertainment to local people and international visitors and that’s exactly what these events will deliver," said Richard Cregan, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit.
“In addition to major events we will have regular drag racing, a variety of courses and experiences at our Driving Academy and guided tours for those people who just want to have a look around.
“We will also continue to host community events such as the UAE Walk for Diabetes."

GP2 Asia Series: The start of Yas Marina Circuit’s 2010 calendar welcomes the return of the popular GP2 Asia Series on 5 – 6 February and a bumper program of excellent local races: the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East and Chevrolet Supercars Middle East Challenge
Established in 2008, GP2 Asia Series is an extension of the highly successful GP2 Main Series that will see as many as 10 veteran drivers progress into Formula 1ïƒ" for the 2010 season.
V8 Supercars: Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi will start the Australian V8 Supercars Championship in 2010. From 19 – 20 February this action packed series will thrill local crowds as the Fords and the Holdens bump and grind around the circuit in their first ever night race.
The V8 Supercars will also be the first to use Yas Marina Circuit’s “Corkscrew". As well as enjoying popularity in Australia and New Zealand, it is growing in stature across the world as the premier Touring Car racing series
International Drag Racing Festival: America’s top fuel dragsters for the first time in the Middle East will invade Yas marina circuit to delight race fans and spectators during The International Drag Racing Festival, 19 – 20 March.
FIA World GT1 Championship: Another big event FIA GT1 Championship, 16/17 April (TBC) will feature internationally-known champions of the world’s top sports car series where spectators’ faces will express a gamut of emotions.
The FIA World GT1 Championship is new for 2010. Six renowned sports car brands, making up 24 cars, compete in this, the inaugural, championship. Each privateer team must have two entries, with every sports car brand having four cars represented. Ten rounds, including Abu Dhabi’s Yas marina Circuit, are provisionally on the 2010 schedule.
2010 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: In Michael Schumacher’s comeback year, will Abu Dhabi be the place where the championship is decided? Or will Button, Hamilton, Vettel and Webber spoil the fairy tale finish? Whatever the outcome, Yas Marina Circuit’s spectacular debut in 2009 is certain to have fans from around the world queueing up for tickets in 2010.
