Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Championship Test at Sebring
The Promoter Test day, on January 22nd, began with some sudden showers, but that didn’t deter the teams from making the best of a wet situation. Being careful to maintain control of the car at almost 100mph while still pushing it to the limit is no easy task. But all the drivers showed great talent and calculation, and their Cooper Tires showed just as much tenacity.
Cooper Tires Design Engineer, Oliver Jetson, was extremely pleased with the results of the day’s testing. “This week at Sebring has been a great opportunity to let several Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Championship teams validate the excellent results we had at the Savannah test for the contract tires." Says Jetson of the sudden rain, “The weather here has given us a chance to see that the wet tire performance has been as impressive as the slicks. Many teams have commented that they are now looking forward to taking advantage of the increased performance and additional life expectancy of the tires." Overall, both teams and tire engineers alike are looking forward to the season-long partnership in the Cooper Tires Prototype Lites Championship.
