Piquet confirms first ARCA race

Nelson Piquet Jr. is pleased to confirm that he has finalized plans for his first USA based event. He will race at Daytona International Speedway in Florida on 6 February in the ARCA Racing Series ‘Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200’ with Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) and will make his appearance in the No. 6 Toyota. ESR won the 2009 ARCA Championship with current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Justin Lofton. The ARCA Racing Series is a championship running vehicles comparable to NASCAR Sprint Cup cars.
Eddie Sharp talked about Nelson’s forthcoming race: “We are excited to have Nelson driving for us in Daytona this year. He will represent ESR well, and we believe he will gain some good learning miles in a stockcar, especially racing at Daytona."
Talking about his forthcoming races, Nelson enthused: “I’m very excited! I can’t wait to reach 200mph side-by-side and rubbing paint! The plans for the season are coming together really well and I am racing with a very strong team. I can’t wait to get out on track!"
