Stefan GP plans to test in Portugal

Stefan GP, the Serbian outfit which hopes to be on this year's grid, has announced via a statement on its website that it will be testing its Formula 1 car in Portugal towards the end of the month.

Although all 13 slots are filled for the F1 grid this year, Stefan remains hopeful that at least one team will not be ready in time, leaving it to fill the breach; the squad based in Belgrade has already purchased Toyota F1 chassis, engines and gearboxes.

In a statement on the team website on Tuesday afternoon, it explains that the Stefan S-01 car will be on-track from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 February with technical support from TMG (Toyota Motorsport GmbH) and the Stefan RG-01 engine.

Furthermore, the statement adds that a full driver-up is yet to be established but does note that the first holds two years' racing experience in F1, rekindling rumors surrounding ex Williams driver Kazuki Nakajima, who was closely association with Toyota. GPUpdate.net
