Frampton to perform at Texas race
“I am really excited to play in front of the NASCAR fans at Texas Motor
Speedway; those guys are always so much fun," Frampton said. “But can I ride in the pace
car, please?"
Frampton, known for his innovative guitar skills and trademark “talk box" guitar sound, has been entertaining fans across the world for nearly a half century. His most recognizable album, “Frampton Comes Alive!" shattered records in 1976 as it sold over 16 million albums worldwide to make it the highest-selling live album at the time. Along with his historic album, Frampton has produced countless hits including “I’m In You," “I Can’t Stand It No More," “Baby I Love Your Way" and “Lying."
In 2007, Frampton earned a Grammy Award for his instrumental album, “Fingerprints," and his performance at Texas Motor Speedway will lead into the release of his new album entitled, “Thank You Mr. Churchill," which is set to debut April 27.
Fans can get close to the legendary rocker’s performance by purchasing a special$79 “mosh pit" ticket that allows fans exclusive access stage-side for all the pre-race festivities leading up the Samsung Mobile 500, including the concert and driver introductions. A Samsung Mobile 500 grandstand ticket must be accompanied with a “mosh pit" ticket.
“What better way to get the fans of Texas Motor Speedway fired up for the Samsung Mobile 500 than to hear that famous ‘talk box’ guitar sound of Peter Frampton," Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage said. “His live performances throughout his career have been legendary, and I expect that to hold true when he entertains the crowd at “The Great American Speedway!"
