Danica to start 12th in stock car debut
With all eyes on where Patrick would start, Buescher went out and backed up his fast practice lap from yesterday to top the 47-car qualifying field on a windy day in Daytona.
“We definitely have a good car," Buescher said. “It was top of the board all day yesterday. I’m happy with the car and I think it will race real good."
Mikey Kile qualified second with Joey Coulter in third.
“The wind was a pretty big factor today," Coulter said. “It was really going to be a toss up between us three."
Dakota Armstrong and Bryan Silas rounded out the top five.
Patrick posted a lap of 179.788 mph behind the wheel of the No. 7 Chevrolet, arguably the best car in the field.
Tomorrow’s 80-lap race will take the green flag at 4:30 p.m. ET.
