di Grassi makes a fool out of Virgin team
Virgin Racing had that "Friday feeling" for all of five minutes before Lucas di Grassi crashed his VR01 at Jerez.
Tweeting, as the teams seem to be doing a lot in pre-season testing, Virgin praised their rookie race after he crossed the line with a 1:31.670 on his 11th lap of the morning.
"Good ol' Grassi has pulled a 1m31.6s lap out already! How's that for a Friday feeling!" said the team.
Five minutes later di Grassi crashed.
The Brazilian went off the track at the kink after the chicane, hitting the barriers and damaging his VR01.
The session was stopped for almost 20 minutes while the marshals returned his car to the Virgin garage with the rear covered.
But while testing resumed, one can only assume that Virgin's "Friday feeling" did not.
