Sam’s Town, LVMS extend sponsorship agreement

The NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will continue to be sponsored by Boyd Gaming and its Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall, officials of the sponsoring hotel and the speedway announced today.

The race name remains the Sam's Town 300, which has been the name since the 1998 event. Only Food City has been on Bristol's fall Nationwide Series race longer.

"We've been very fortunate to find what we believe to be the best title sponsor in the NASCAR Nationwide Series," said Chris Powell, LVMS general manager. "This event has become one of the most popular on the circuit, and our friends at Boyd Gaming and its Sam's Town property share a great deal of responsibility for that success."

Sam's Town joined with Las Vegas Motor Speedway following the inaugural NASCAR Nationwide Series event in 1997. Since that time, crowds have increased steadily and the event has often drawn a crowd in excess of 100,000 fans.

"In a city known for entertainment, the NASCAR Nationwide Series delivers, and we are proud to be a part of it. All of the Boyd Gaming properties look forward to welcoming race fans to Las Vegas on this exciting weekend," said Paul Chakmak, Chief Operating Officer for Boyd Gaming.
