Motorsports This Week on ESPN
Mike Massaro hosts half-hour episodes of NASCAR Now airing Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of this week at 5 p.m. and Wednesday at 6 p.m. Massaro also hosts the one-hour weekend edition that airs Sunday, March 7, at 9 a.m. with a preview of that day’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Nicole Briscoe and Marty Smith will report from the speedway.
NASCAR Now is hosted by Massaro, Bestwick and Briscoe and originates from ESPN’s high definition studios in Bristol, Conn. Contributors include reporters Marty Smith, Shannon Spake and Angelique Chengelis, analysts Ray Evernham, Tim Brewer, Brad Daugherty, Ricky Craven and Randy LaJoie, and ESPN.com reporters Ed Hinton, Terry Blount and David Newton. The NASCAR on ESPN team event coverage team of Rusty Wallace, Dale Jarrett, Marty Reid, Dr. Jerry Punch, Andy Petree, Dave Burns, Jamie Little, and Vince Welch also make frequent contributions to NASCAR Now.
ESPN Classic Takes NASCAR Fans Back to Alan Kulwicki’s First Win
Alan Kulwicki, the 1992 NASCAR champion, scored his first career win in NASCAR’s top series in the 1988 Checker 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. ESPN Classic will take NASCAR fans back in time to that day with a presentation of race highlights on Monday, March 8, at noon ET.
In addition, fans can watch highlights of another race from the 1988 season, the Budweiser 400 at Riverside (Calif.) International Raceway, on Tuesday, March 2, at 1 a.m.
NASCAR Nationwide Series Returns March 20
The NASCAR Nationwide Series has two weekends off and returns to action on Saturday, March 20, at Bristol (TN) Motor Speedway. The race will air on ABC, with NASCAR Countdown beginning the telecast at 2 p.m.
ESPN2 is the home of the series all season, with select races airing on ESPN and ABC.
