FIA and North One at odds over rally rotation
Former FIA president Max Mosley introduced the rotation policy, which saw some of the most popular and famous rallies, such as the Monte Carlo rally, disappear from the calendar every other year.
Autosport.com reports that Chandler, president of the FIA's World Rally Championship Commission, said: "I know North One doesn't want rotation, but there are some obvious candidates…
"I don't hold that rotation is the solution, but I do see a small portion of rotation as, perhaps, meeting the needs of some countries and adding variety. I've had this debate with North One and they've got good business reasons about why they don't want to do that and I can understand that."
North One last week had its proposed calendar for the 2011 season rejected by the FIA's World Motor Sport Council. The calendar will now be discussed by Chandler, FIA president Jean Todt and North One Sport, before the WMSC votes on it again, by fax, on April 16.
