Doornbos and Karthikeyan confirmed in Superleague

Former Formula 1 drivers Robert Doornbos and Narain Karthikeyan have been confirmed as drivers in the Superleague Formula for 2010, as the Dutchman returns and the Indian makes his debut in the series which features each team taking on the name of an international football squad.

Having raced in the championship for AC Milan last year as well as a full-time drive in the IndyCar Series with Newman/Haas/Lanigan, former Minardi and Red Bull driver Doornbos has made the switch to Corinthians for the upcoming Superleague campaign.

"After evaluating many options for 2010, I decided to accept the offer from Azerti Racing for Corinthians," the Rotterdam driver explained. "After one year in the USA, I want to win races again. I'd like to state that my adventure in the USA is not over yet but Superleague is very competitive, with many ex F1 drivers."

Having been the first Indian in F1 courtesy of his Jordan driver five years ago, Karthikeyan will make his Superleague debut this season with PSV Eindhoven.
