Petrov: “We need to start finishing”
"We're improving the car all the time and some new aerodynamic parts are working," Vitaly explained to GPUpdate.net at Barcelona's GP2 test session on Wednesday. "The car has improved a lot but we need more time to understand where we are and to improve more for the next races – at the moment we're still not as quick as we want to be but we're working on that."
Having finished runner-up in GP2 last season, Petrov points out that the entire Formula 1 experience varies greater when compared to the feeder series although race finishes are now the principal target.
Everything is different, not just things like the acceleration and braking," he said of the differences between the two series. "It's another world, with people working all the time and pushing very hard. It's possible to improve all parts of the car all the time.
"It's going okay but we're yet to finish a race, so we have to finish a race to understand things properly." When asked if he hopes to be scoring points by the start of the European season, Vitaly remains realistic. "Barcelona would be difficult we can always try," he concluded. GPUpdate.net
