Goodyear tests at Indy to avoid embarrassment of 2008

Tony Stewart

This Indianapolis Star article talks about Tony Stewart testing at IMS this week for Goodyear. Of course they would be testing at Indy, because last year their tires were a disaster. We find it interesting that Tony Stewart is doing the testing because he has panned the Goodyear tires on numerous occasions.

We know there are all kinds of excuses…new car, heavy car, hot temperatures, debris on the track, new paving, abrasive surface…etc. Is it really that hard to make a tire that doesn't blow (up)? If anything, make the tire super hard, and just let the drivers drive it.

Let's hope they can make a decent tire that won't shred underneath the car when it turns…
