SPEED Nascar and HOF coverage schedule
“In what will be a historic weekend for NASCAR, with the inaugural induction ceremony for the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Sunday (live on SPEED at noon ET), Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race on SPEED will showcase the best drivers of this generation," said SPEED President Hunter Nickell. “There is no question that fans will be watching guys that already have places reserved in future Hall of Fame inductions. These guys are the best of the best … all battling for a $1 million payday."
Krista Voda and Jeff Hammond host SPEED coverage of the event, with the FOX Sports team of Darrell Waltrip, Larry McReynolds and Mike Joy calling the race action. Steve Byrnes, Dr. Dick Berggren and Matt Yocum report from the pits. Four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon will join Voda and Hammond early in the evening.
Leading into the event, SPEED will broadcast coverage of the NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge on May 19 at 9 p.m. ET, with all eyes focused on last year’s record-setting winners, the No. 31 team pit crew of Jeff Burton. Steve Byrnes, along with former crew chiefs Larry McReynolds and Jeff Hammond, will call the action, with Bob Dillner reporting from the floor of the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte.
On Friday, May 21, SPEED will be live from Charlotte Motor Speedway with coverage of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race (NCWTS Setup w/Krista Voda 7:30 p.m. ET; race starts at 8 p.m. ET), followed by an hour of the popular weekly show, Trackside, from the SPEED Stage. Trackside scheduled guests include Mark Martin, Joey Logano and crew chief Alan Gustafson.
Saturday’s traditional “24 Hours of All-Star" on SPEED will blend a mix of All-Star race related shows with NASCAR Hall of Fame programming.
NASCAR RaceDay Built by The Home Depot will begin a special three-hour All-Star edition at 4 p.m. ET with hosts John Roberts, Kyle Petty and Kenny Wallace and reporters Wendy Venturini and Hermie Sadler. Once again, the RaceDay crew will cover the Pennzoil Ultra Victory Challenge, with NASCAR drivers showing off their best post-race celebratory burnouts and donuts in front of a panel of celebrity judges. Tony Stewart, the 2009 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race winner, will be a guest of the RaceDay crew.
Coverage of the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race begins at 7 p.m. ET, with NASCAR Victory Lane’s post-race analysis scheduled for 11 p.m. ET.
In addition, NASCAR Race Hub will expand from 30 minutes to one hour for the week leading up to the All-Star Race.
