Williams drivers pleased with new rear wing
Rubens Barrichello |
Rubens Barrichello arrived in Monaco after equaling the points total of hero Ayrton Senna in Spain last weekend, with both Brazilians now lying on 614 in the all-time statistics. Having experimented with new components in the first two Monaco practice sessions, the most experienced man in Formula 1 history is positive.
Williams trialed a new rear wing configuration for Barrichello in Practice 1 whilst team-mate Nico Hülkenberg made use of the front wing which the Brazilian used last time out in Barcelona.
The team has brought some new parts for the car to Monaco," Barrichello began. "I had the new rear wing assembly this morning, Nico this afternoon. It looks promising and I hope to be a touch more competitive than some previous weekends. I'm looking forward to Saturday."
"Today was my first time in a Formula 1 car around Monaco, so this morning was initially about getting some mileage under my belt," the German added. "The car feels okay – you can squeeze a lot out of it on one lap with the soft (Super Soft compound) tire.
"It also feels like we've made a gain with the new aero parts – the rear wing definitely provides more grip."
