Austin F1 Promoter thinks Texas is perfect for F1?

Austin Texas seems quite an odd and surprising pick for a Formula One race. However, Tavo Hellmund, one of the partners of the rights holder and promoting group Full Throttle Productions, begs to differ.

"Austin is more of an F1 crowd than a NASCAR crowd," Hellmund told the newspaper. "The geography, the tech money, the nightlife, the music. It all just fits with what Formula 1 is all about."

"Texas has never had an annual global sporting event," he added. "I think everyone is going to be really proud of it."
