Hamilton will not run Texas
Indy Racing League veteran Davey Hamilton will not compete in the Izod IndyCar Series race at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, as originally planned.
Hamilton tangled with Tomas Scheckter on the opening lap in the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday. He was scheduled to drive one more race for de Ferran Dragon Racing at Texas. However, because the small team left Indy with two wrecked Dallaras, they simply cannot repair and prepare two cars Texas.
Matos, who also crashed out of the 500, missed Monday night’s victory banquet at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, having received treatment for a sore neck.
