Another packed grid at Utah for ALMS

ALMS at Miller Motorsports Park, Utah

A new class at the venue and the debut for one of Formula 1’s biggest names highlight the entry list for next month’s Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix. The fourth round of the 2010 American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patr¢n is set for July 9-11 at Miller Motorsports Park just outside Salt Lake City.

A field of 35 cars are entered for the two-hour, 45-minute race on MMP’s 3.048-mile, 15-turn perimeter circuit. Among them is a Ferrari F430 GT for Toni Vilander and Ferrari F1 regular Giancarlo Fisichella – a veteran of 231 Grand Prix starts and three World Championship victories. The pair will drive a second Ferrari for Risi Competizione and make an epic GT class even more so.

Also new for the Utah round is the LMP Challenge class, featuring ORECA’s FLM09 prototype. Seven of the prototypes are entered in the class including championship leaders Scott Tucker and Christophe Bouchut in one of two Level 5 Motorsports entries.

The Utah round will be the fourth consecutive Series venue that has seen significant entry increases from 2009.

A select group of Series drivers and teams will compete at the 78th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The world’s greatest motor race is set for June 12-13 from the famed Circuit de la Sarthe in France. SPEED will broadcast the event live with flag-to-flag coverage available on radiolemans.com.
