Canada GP weather forecast

Scattered thunderstorms could affect Formula 1's return to Montreal this weekend, according to current local weather forecasts. Although practice and qualifying are expected to remain dry, despite being perhaps overcast, rain could hit the venue over Saturday night and into Sunday.

Canada took a year off last season although the popular venue, frequently a sell-out, now returns to the calendar after handing the sport first-time winners in Lewis Hamilton and Robert Kubica in 2007 and 2008.

In terms of temperatures, figures in the low to mid-20s will mean t-shirts and shorts will provide comfortable viewing for spectators – not least on Friday, when sunshine is expected for the majority of the day – although a slim chance of thunderstorms on Saturday night is predicted to translate to a genuine chance on race day.
