Canada: Thursday weather update
The driest day of the weekend is expected to be tomorrow, with just a 20% chance of rain and largely clear skies forecast for much of the day. Temperatures will hit a high of 25°C, lower than earlier forecasts, although heavy rain-bearing cloud will roll in from the South as night approaches.
That cloud will lead to higher chances of rain on Saturday, with showers currently being forecast for Montreal at a chance of 30%. The night is expected to be dry. Meanwhile, temperatures will drop to a high of 23°C.
The rain is expected to return again for race-day Sunday, with over a 50% chance of precipitation at some stage during the day. Highest temperatures will rise slightly to 25°C.
The Canadian Grand Prix is usually associated with dry and warm conditions, with all but one of the last 18 races having been run in the dry. The last wet-weather race in Montreal was the 2000 edition.
