Competing for the Position One Motorsports squad have been the likes of Bobby Kelley, Nick Johnston, Devin Lindsey, Airel Jimenez, Skylar Estrada and Luis Martinez Jr. Dedicated to winning, all team drivers show that they are some of North America’s best and fastest upcoming pilots while they look to add to the team’s impressive resume.
“We have competed in the junior and senior ranks and have been performing very well," expressed Team Coordinator Colin McGinnis. “We have been at the front of the field in TaG, PRD Senior and Junior as well as the Mini Rok classes and keep improving with each and every race weekend."
Utilizing both the Avanti and Maddox chassis, Position One Motorsports has scored five main event victories, 18 top five results and 25 top ten finishes followed up by numerous pole positions, heat race wins and several fast time awards.
Martinez added, “We are not only a karting operation. We look to improve North America’s up and coming talent and help them make it to the next level in the motorsports ladder. By providing a professional experience, top quality equipment and being determined to win, we are headed in the right direction to become one of the premiere teams in the North American karting market."
Position One Motorsports is an all encompassing operation that also runs in the stock car ranks. In 2009, with former karter Randell King, Position One Motorsports claimed the 2009 S2 Championship scoring seven race wins in eight events. King has since moved to the Super Late Model division paving the way for current Position One Motorsports competitors Bobby Kelley, Luis Martinez Jr. and Nick Johnston who have all driven the S2 car in 2010 scoring two main event victories.
Looking to make it easier for karters to get to the next level, Position One Motorsports operates the S2 stock car to help their up and coming drivers. While competing at the famed Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, the S2 division is the best stepping stone for a karter looking to make the transition to the world of stock car racing.
Position One Motorsports is the North American importer for both the Avanti and Maddox product lines, has a direct working relationship with in-house engine builder P1 Engines and operates out of a state-of-the art shop in Baldwin Park, California.
Position One Motorsports offers complete arrive and drive opportunities for many of the western karting series.
