MWR to make announcement at Indy
UPDATE A reader writes, Dear AutoRacing1.com, If it is also announced that Tums has signed on to sponsor Reutimann for more races or the entire season then it gives more credence to the rumor that everything happens in NASCAR for a reason – Reutimann won last night's Chicagoland race with Tums on the car. Tums only signed to do 5 races and I believe this is how NASCAR lures a sponsor in to do more, i.e. give them a pole or a win. Yehuda Rabinowitz
07/11/10 David Reutimann, who won Saturday night's Spring Cup race at Chicagoland Speedway, has signed a new contract with Michael Waltrip Racing. The team scheduled a news conference for July 23 in Indianapolis to announce the deal. "We're in good shape," Reutimann said after his win. "We basically shook hands and got things all lined up. I'll be at Michael Waltrip Racing next year. I may be cutting grass, but I'll be at Michael Waltrip Racing." General manager Ty Norris confirmed an announcement is scheduled and that Reutimann and crew chief Rodney Childers will not be going anywhere. "Both these guys proved tonight they deserve a contract," Norris said. "They deserve to be around.". ESPN.com
