Ferrari has more updates for Germany

Ferrari will take another raft of upgraded car parts to Hockenheim this weekend as it tries its upmost to stay in the championship fight. Having lost significant ground to McLaren and Red Bull over recent races, the Scuderia enjoyed a stronger on-track performance at Silverstone despite scoring no points.

The British Grand Prix featured a noticeable raw performance gain but soon turned into a disaster for Ferrari, with Fernando Alonso’s afternoon being compounded by a drive-through penalty as team-mate Felipe Massa spun at Luffield corner.

Nevertheless, the Italian squad heads to Germany with the knowledge that it has won more races in the country (19) than any other on the F1 calendar.

‘The engineering team at Maranello has not eased up at all and there are further updates on the car this weekend, with changes to the diffuser, and therefore everything points to another competitive weekend for Ferrari,’ reads their preview to the German Grand Prix.

‘No matter how much progress has been made in terms of car development, there are no points awarded for technical excellence and it is clear that, this weekend and at the race in Budapest just seven days later, Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro must bring home a big points haul if it intends to be fully in the hunt for the championship title.’
