Glock calls for ‘mega step forward’

Timo Glock believes that Virgin Racing requires significant increases in performance, if it is to stay in touch with fellow new team Lotus for the remainder of this season. The John Booth-run outfit enjoyed a positive weekend at Silverstone, with major updates on-board the cars of both the German and Brazilian team-mate Lucas di Grassi.

Although Lotus has held the edge at the tail end of the field so far this season, Virgin experienced large gains in performance over the British Grand Prix weekend – something Timo hopes to see more of before the circus arrives in Abu Dhabi.

“It’s difficult to say after all the difficulties we had in the beginning, with all the technical problems," he told GPUpdate.net when reviewing the first half to his season.

“That was a shame – it cost us a lot of time – and now we just have to find a way and, for me, that’s the starting point with all the improvements on the car.

“We had one big update at Silverstone and then we have to bring some others for the rest of the year to make a mega step forward, a mega step in the right direction. I don’t know how long we will develop for; we will still develop until Hockenheim, I think, but the real plan I don’t know."
