Pocono to dedicate solar farm

Pocono Raceway today will dedicate a solar farm in one of the track's former parking lots that will "generate enough electricity to power the NASCAR facility as well as about 1,000 homes" in the area. The 40,000 photovoltaic panels will make Pocono the "largest solar-powered sports stadium in the world." The solar farm, built at a reported cost of $15M, is "expected to pay for itself in four to five years." It will serve as the "centerpiece of NASCAR's green initiative" NASCAR.com
