Houston committee formed to bring back IndyCar race

The Grand Prix of Houston Local Organizing Committee was officially formed yesterday "in hopes of bringing open-wheel racing back to Houston for the first time" since '07. The committee, started by Mi-Jack Promotions, Harris County, the city of Houston and SMG-Reliant Park, is petitioning the IRL "to give Houston a spot" on the '12 IndyCar Series schedule.
