Newman wins Bristol Modified race

Ryan Newman began his August race week on a high note taking home the victory in the UNOH Perfect Storm 150 at Bristol Motor Speedway Wednesday night after battling with modified legends Ted Christopher and Mike Stefanik at the front of the pack all evening. After leading much of the event, Christopher's evening went up in smoke near the end of the race due to engine problems, leaving the door open for Stefanik to steal the win. Newman, however, had other plans and raced his way by Stefanik and in to victory lane. "This might be my best win here," Newman said. "It was a fun race, and a great race at Bristol. Glad I ended up in victory lane. It was a good race at Bristol." James Civali finished third, followed by Bobby Santos and Todd Szegedy. BMS
