Playboy, IZOD and IndyCar

Finally, Playboy taps a large motorsports series… well sort of. Playboy isn’t new to racing and has supported many events including the Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup and they offer up sponsorship to many teams in a variety of leagues. What has been unseen from them though is any involvement with a large series, until now.

Recently, IZOD’s official Trophy Girl Cameron Haven (former Playboy model) and Playmate Kimberly Phillips (Miss September) appeared in a photo shoot sporting the new IZOD Winning Car Series collection. They bared most to demonstrate how ‘hot’ the line could look under the right circumstances. The IZOD Winning Car Series collection focuses on vintage-style tees that celebrate the first Indianapolis 500 winner, the 1911 Marmon Wasp, the 1939-40 Maserati, and the 1948 Novi, as well as other Brickyard-inspired designs.

Many are wondering why Playboy and the IZOD IndyCar Series have decided to better promote their “assets". Actually, the more I think about it the more I think it’s a smart one. Playboy wins as part of any motorsports series and IZOD wins because these models make their clothes look less bland.
