Penske shows his appreciation
With the support of its partners, Penske Racing hosted a special lunch for all of its 400-plus employees at Penske Racing headquarters. All of the team’s drivers that compete in the NASCAR Cup Series and Nationwide Series, as well as the IZOD IndyCar Series, were in attendance for the lunch that was held on the main floor of the 425,000 square-foot facility located in Mooresville, N.C.
Penske Racing President Tim Cindric welcomed the employees and Roger Penske recognized all of the accomplishments that the teams have achieved so far this season. Through September 6, Penske Racing teams have produced an impressive 16 wins (including a victory at the NASCAR All-Star race in May) and 20 pole positions in 2010.
As Penske Racing battles for championships in all three series where it competes this season, the organization took time to thank its employees while keeping in mind the hard work that lies ahead to reach its goals.
Ruby Tuesday provided lunch for all the employees while many of the organization’s partners – including Ruby Tuesday – contributed prizes that were given away to Penske workers. Team sponsors Verizon, MillerCoors, ExxonMobil, Avis, AAA, Lincoln Welders, Discount Tire and others dedicated products and services that were distributed to Penske Racing employees by random draw. Dodge Motorsports even contributed a one-year lease on a 2011 Dodge Challenger to one lucky employee. Penske Racing drivers Kurt Busch, Brad Keselowski, Sam Hornish Jr., Justin Allgaier, Parker Kligerman, Helio Castroneves, Ryan Briscoe and Will Power each addressed the crowd and helped give away the premium prizes.
“This was a great opportunity to recognize the efforts of all our employees this season and a way to say thanks for the work that they do," said Cindric. “We are in a unique position to compete for three championships over the next few weeks and we know how much hard work it’s taken to get to this point. We have a lot left to accomplish this season, but with the help of our great partners, we were able to enjoy a special afternoon and have a little bit of fun."
Penske Racing is one of the most successful teams in the history of professional sports. Competing in a variety of disciplines, cars owned and prepared by Penske Racing have produced more than 320 major race wins, over 380 pole positions and 22 National Championships.
