2011 IndyCar Schedule announced
The Izod IndyCar Series released its 2011 schedule today, which includes eight oval races and nine road/street events. The lineup includes the return of the Milwaukee Mile and New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
The season will begin on March 27 on a temporary street course in St. Petersburg, Fla, as it did for years until last year Brazil opened the season. The season finale has not yet been announced, but reports indicate that the race will be held at either Las Vegas Motor Speedway or Auto Club Speedway in California.
The race at Kentucky Speedway this year will shift from Labor Day weekend to Oct. 2 to make way for the inaugural street race in Baltimore. IndyCar will mark the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500 on May 29th.
